The HANDi Paediatric App is a new app soon to be rolled out across Surrey Heartlands that can provide advice and support to parents and carers if their children have symptoms of common childhood illnesses.
HANDi App offers simple and straightforward advice on what to do and who to contact when a child is unwell.
Already launched across North West Surrey, HANDi App includes illness-specific home assessment for six common childhood illnesses:
- Diarrhoea and vomiting
- High temperature
- Chesty baby (Bronchiolitis)
- Chesty child (Wheeze and Asthma)
- Abdominal pain
- Common newborn problems
Each of the six illnesses has a home care plan to help parents and carers provide the best support for their child, and give them confidence in caring for their children when they are unwell.
Surrey Heartlands Senior Responsible Officer Dr Claire Fuller said: “The HANDi App is a really helpful source of information about common childhood illnesses for parents and carers, at any time from their smart phone or tablet. I hope it will support parents and carers to feel confident about caring for their unwell child and provide a guide to finding the right help when needed”.
You can download the HANDi App for Android phones from Google Play or the Apple App Store for iPhones by searching ‘Handi app’.
