Devolution: Integrated Commissioning update

///Devolution: Integrated Commissioning update

Workshops have been held between the three Surrey Heartlands CCGs and at Surrey County Council to discuss the commissioning powers planned to be moved to the Joint Committee. The Surrey Heartlands Joint Committee also held a workshop facilitated by Chris Ham of the King’s Fund to discuss the development of Strategic Commissioning.

As we close in on the end of our ‘shadow year’ as a devolved health and care system, work continues to evolve the integrated commissioning governance arrangements for the future.

Immunisations, dental services and specialised services continue to be the focus of discussions with NHS England about the increasing role Surrey Heartlands will play in decision making.

A workshop held with local, regional and national leads on 12 February discussed how we could strengthen Surrey Heartlands voice in the commissioning of dental services.

Work continues on the development of the case for change for immunisations. Final approvals are being sought to secure external support in relation to specialised services.

The draft Memoranda of Understanding for the delegation of Health Education England and the Academic Health Science Network responsibilities are to be presented to the Surrey Heartlands Joint Committee at its next meeting in March.
