Andy is the Academy Public Health lead. His responsibilities include population health management and evaluation strategy development within the Surrey Heartlands Partnership. He is currently leading a group to establish the Surrey Office of Data Analytics (SODA), a virtual team of analysts that will build a joint understanding of the local health and care system and deliver insights that drive public service improvement.
Andy trained and worked as a clinical doctor in South Wales before specialising in Public Health. He worked in Kingston Council and the Mayor of London’s Health Team as the lead on air quality before moving to Surrey County Council and then to the Academy. Particular interests include data-driven models of care, collaborative working to reduce health inequalities and influencing the built environment to improve population health.
