As ever, there’s been a lot going on this month; in particular I’m really pleased we are making solid progress to support our First 1000 Days focus with the official launch of our 24/7 Maternity Helpline and the fantastic news that we were awarded additional funding to support perinatal mental health.
Meanwhile, an important new journey began in May with the launch of the public information campaign around the Surrey Care Record which gives selected health and social care professionals access to your health records to improve care. While the public communications will provide clear information about the introduction of the Surrey Care Record and an individual’s right to opt out if they so choose, from a clinical perspective shared records provide a range of benefits to improve care, including a reduction in the number of times a patient needs to repeat their information.
Finally, we are really excited about our forthcoming Choir Concert (Thursday 5th July, 7.00 pm at G-Live, Guildford) to celebrate NHS 70. We have a fabulous line-up of music performed by local NHS, Surrey County Council and community choirs – see below to book your tickets.
With very best wishes,
Dr Claire Fuller, Senior Responsible Officer for Surrey Heartlands
